Supporting Trump alienated me from friends and family. The most painful separation occurred with two of my adult children and their families. (Our relationship became stressed in 2008 during the financial crisis and then in 2016 my children were not Trump fans.) My hope is that when Trump fades off into the sunset many families and friendships will be restored.
The last time I spoke with my oldest daughter in her home we had the following conversation. (December 2021)
Me: I asked with deep sorrow, “Why did you not come to me to discuss granddaughter (Age 9) getting the Covid 19 experimental vaccine?” Sadly my daughter became victim to the fear messages and felt like she was making the right decision to keep her daughter safe. Fear deactivated her rational and logical brain like it did for millions of people. https://bigthink.com/surprising-science/what-fear-does-to-your-brain-and-how-to-stop-it/
Daughter: Because you lost all credibility in my eyes by supporting Donald Trump in 2016 and 2020. (Yes, I did, but I publicly recanted my support in April of 2021.)
This is the Trump CONTAGION that is destroying families and communities everywhere in America.
The following is a story about one MAGA family that was tragically torn apart in this civil war. Guy Reffitt watched on tearfully as his 19-year-old son told jurors he "constantly" had a gun on him and said Jan. 6 was just the "preface." Reffitt was sentenced for over 7 years.
I stayed out of politics for over 3 years until I listened to Kamala Harris’s speech that she delivered in Atlanta, Georgia. Something lit up in me. I am an advocate at heart that has been studying mind control, social engineering, and propaganda for the last few years, so I was cautious before trusting another politician. However, I feel up for the challenge because I have been refining my critical thinking skills. I spent hours listening to videos and reading about Kamala Harris and I listened to many speakers at the DNC event. I did not tune in to the RNC because I had zero faith or interest left for the Republican party. Any party that elects criminals and psychopathic liars gets zero respect from me, yet the Republicans do get sympathy for having been taken over by Trump.
After eight years of following Republican narratives, I was pleasantly surprised to find authenticity, intelligence, integrity, patriotism, compassion, empathy, love, justice, joy, and inclusivity in the Democratic party. The energy and joy of the convention was electrifying, with many inspiring moments and heartfelt tears of joy. I sure hope every American will take a peek at what transpired at the DNC and consider both sides for the love of country. In my opinion it is fruitless to put faith in the unfaithful and Trump has proven himself to be unfaithful in countless ways.
Until July of 2024, I did not want Trump, Biden, or Harris. Since Kamala had been effectively de-humanized through the use of propaganda, I had heard just enough about her to have a negative impression and bias. However, once I started to listen to her, and her family, and her friends, and her colleagues, I was able to see her in a new light. She grew up in middle class America to a cancer research scientist and an economics professor. Her parents divorced; she was raised by her mother whom she gives a loving tribute to in her presidential nomination speech. Growing up without a silver spoon has given her a heart to advocate for the middle class. I feel she is humble, genuine, empathetic, strong, intelligent, experienced, and professional. I hope I am correct in this assessment of her, and I humbly admit I have made other assessments that were incorrect, I could be wrong, but I have also been right. I have always resonated with advocates, those who speak up for those who have little power. These speeches touched my heart in a deep way.
My mother watches Fox News and Newsmax. She is afraid that we will become a socialist country if “Comrade” Kamala wins. She repeats often just as the talking heads repeat often, “If Kamala Harris gets in office, we will become a communist country and we will no longer recognize America as we know it.” What Trump is doing to Americans and especially the elderly is torturous. To successfully control minds these propaganda slogans need to be repeated often, and they are criminally repeated often to American’s that grew up in a totally different political environment. My mother is suffering greatly in this confusing current political world that holds no accountability for lying to those they have promised to serve.
Yet if you listen to left leaning media the Democrats are being told Trump is a fascist and we will lose our freedoms and democracy if Trump wins. So how can we have two narratives that are basically talking about the same fear of losing our freedoms? All Americans care about being free.
After observing both political parties, I have more concern about Trump being a dictator than Harris leading us to communism. I have hope that there is a path to unity and am happy Democrats seem to want truth just as much as many of us do.
In order to escape the cult you will need to expand your sources for news. I have listened to many media sources these last few years, this is my new favorite independent news channel. They have experts and attorneys who give insightful political commentaries. No crazy talk about white hats and secret intel propaganda, just normal mature political discourse. https://www.youtube.com/@MeidasTouch
Why People Join Cults (AI Brave Generated Answer)
Based on the provided search results, here are some reasons why people join cults:
Psychological needs: Many individuals join cults due to unresolved psychological issues, such as loneliness, feelings of inadequacy, or a lack of purpose in life. Cults often exploit these vulnerabilities by offering a sense of belonging, acceptance, and a clear direction.
Emotional needs: People may join cults to fulfill emotional needs like forgiveness, community, and a sense of family. This is particularly true for those who have experienced trauma or have a history of dysfunctional relationships.
Misinformation and lack of critical thinking: Some individuals may be drawn to cults due to their inability to critically evaluate information or their susceptibility to misinformation. This can be exacerbated by confirmation bias, where they selectively accept information that confirms their existing beliefs.
Vulnerability: Cult leaders often target vulnerable individuals, such as those experiencing personal crises, feeling disconnected from society, or struggling with mental health issues. These individuals may be more receptive to the cult’s message and promises.
Sense of belonging and tribalism: Humans have an inherent desire to belong and be part of a group. Cults often tap into this instinct, offering a sense of community and shared identity.
Exploitation by charismatic leaders: Cult leaders often possess charismatic personalities, which can be irresistible to some individuals. These leaders may use manipulation, emotional blackmail, and psychological coercion to recruit and retain members.
Lack of awareness: Many people may not realize they are joining a cult until it’s too late. Cults often present themselves as benign or even beneficial organizations, making it difficult for outsiders to recognize the warning signs.
Brainwashing and gradual indoctrination: Cults often employ subtle and gradual techniques to indoctrinate members, making it difficult for them to recognize the cult’s true nature.
Social and peer pressure: Friends, family, or acquaintances may join a cult, influencing others to follow suit. This social pressure can be a powerful motivator.
Unaddressed spiritual or philosophical needs: Some individuals may join cults in search of spiritual or philosophical fulfillment, which they perceive as lacking in mainstream society.
It’s essential to note that these factors can interact and compound, making it more challenging for individuals to recognize and resist the cult’s influence.
